Smithdon Press Release

The Governors of Smithdon High School are pleased to announce that their recent application to become an Academy with the West Norfolk Academies Trust has been approved by the Regional Schools Commissioner. The school will now consult with all stakeholders but hopes to convert in October this year.

CHAIR OF GOVERNORS, HUW GRIFFITHS

“Joining a successful Trust was the next logical step for Smithdon High School as we continue on our journey to becoming an outstanding school. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with WNAT’s schools, to provide the young people in our care with the best possible chance of success”.

PAUL MARSH, Headteacher, Smithdon High School

“With the ending of local authority maintenance of schools and the move towards school to school support through academisation, Smithdon can only benefit from belonging to a family of schools and sharing good practice”.

Roger Livesey, Chair of the West Norfolk Academies Trust said

"It is great news that another good school has chosen to join our Trust. This is our fourth High School and we are confident that Smithdon will prosper as part of our organisation."
