WNAT pupils on the ball

Pupils from across the West Norfolk Academies Trust were on the ball when they took part in a sporting competition where they competed against one another to eliminate their opponents.
The WNAT Key Stage 2 Dodgeball Tournament was hosted by Trust member Gaywood Primary School, and saw the Year 3 and 4 children divided into teams of six.
Elliot Whiting is PE Lead at Gaywood and ran the event with the assistance of organiser Matt Parkinson from ICS Coaching.
“The event took place between teams of Key Stage 2 children from schools within the West Norfolk Academies Trust,” he said.
Besides Gaywood, participating schools included Clenchwarton Primary, Heacham Junior, Snettisham Primary, Walpole Cross Keys Primary, and West Lynn Primary, along with Windmill Federation primaries Terrington St John, Walpole Highway, West Walton, and Tilney St Lawrence.
Mr Whiting continued: “All players received a certificate for their hard work in the tournament. The dodgeball games were very creative, and children used large zorb balls and inflatables to help them hide.”
He added: “These events take place each term throughout the year with different Trust schools taking it in turns to host the events.
“These events give children a great opportunity to put the skills they learn in PE into competitive sports, whilst showcasing important values like teamwork and respect.”
