Neil has worked for West Norfolk Academies Trust for seven years and is currently the Executive Headteacher for Gaywood Primary School.  

Neil’s experience comes from teaching in all Key Stages in primary settings which gave him a first-hand insight into teaching across the primary phase.  Neil has led a range of foundation and core subjects where he gained an interest in leadership subsequently achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers.  Following this Neil worked as an Executive Deputy Headteacher across several schools, was appointed Headteacher of Gaywood Primary and more recently the Executive Headteacher of Gaywood Primary School with responsibilities across the trust.

Neil feels that the Trust is a very supportive organisation with plenty of opportunities for individuals to further their career aspirations and access promotion, should they want to. 

The best part of Neil’s job is making a positive change to the life chances of pupils and providing a supportive and progressive working environment for colleagues and his one piece of knowledge to a new employee of the Trust is “always have the children's best interests at the centre of your thought process”.

Neil’s biggest achievement is becoming the Headteacher of Gaywood Primary School and working with a fantastic team of people to improve provision for all stakeholders.
