West Norfolk's Got Virtual Talent - 2020
The Winners of the West Norfolk's Got Virtual Talent Show are as follows:
OVERALL WINNERS:
West Norfolk High School Winner
Our very own Ella Chim from Springwood High School who played 'The River Flows in You' on the piano. was the overall West Norfolk High School winner. She won £100 in Amazon vouchers.
"I felt extremely surprised and fortunate to win, as there is a lot of talent in West Norfolk. I’m really glad the judges enjoyed my performance and I hope there are more opportunities like this in the future for aspiring performers to take part in".
West Norfolk Primary School WInner
Zoe Burton from Terrington St Clements Community Primary School, was the overall West Norfolk Primary School winner. She played a Tango called 'El Choclo' on the violin. She also won £100 in Amazon vouchers.
‘I am extremely happy to participate and win the Virtual Talent Show 2020. I enjoy playing
violin for others and share my love and joy for music. During the lockdown my music helped me to stay focused and now I can see the positive outcome after my practice. Thank you very much for the great
opportunity to perform in the show.'

When the Winners were informed by Mr Andy Johnson that they had won they were all delighted and said:

Chantelle Verdad, St-Martha's : Overall singing winner (£50 Amazon voucher)
"I am really happy about winning the West Norfolk Virtual Talent Show, especially as this is my first time to have joined this kind of competition. I thank my dad and mum for supporting my passion. I did really enjoyed doing the video, overall an experience that I would treasure in my life. Thank you for the West Norfolk Virtual Talent Show committee for believing in my talent."
Jasper Pike, Wisbech Grammar: Overall instrumental winner (£50 Amazon voucher)
Jasper's Dad, James Pike:
Jasper loves performing but most opportunities to perform to an audience have been put on hold due to Covid-19. The competitions he was due to enter in July were all disappointingly cancelled so when he saw that the WNAT were running a virtual competition for local young people he was thrilled.
Danny Bailey, Heacham Jnr: Instrumental runner up (£25 Amazon voucher)
Danny's Mum, Nicky Bailey:
"Danny has been taking piano lessons for two and a half years with the West Norfolk Academy of Music and he really enjoys it. It's been great for him to have something to focus on in these challenging times".
Danny:
"I couldn't believe it when I heard that I'd won a prize! I love playing the piano but I never thought I'd actually win anything. It was great to have a celebrity say that they really enjoyed it too. Thank you for the opportunity, it's been amazing and great fun".
Ellie Proctor, Heacham Jnr: Dance runner up (£25 Amazon voucher)
Ellie said “I was shocked that I was a winner in the competition and it was a pleasure taking part.”
Her Mum, Vicky Proctor said: "Thanks so much for encouraging her! "
We would like to thank all those that took part, the standard of talent of our students across the whole of West Norfolk was very high which made the competition difficult to judge, you all performed amazingly well.

We may not be able to go to school, but that won't stop us celebrating the talent of our students across West Norfolk’s primary and secondary schools.

How to enter:
Send us a clip of you performing your talent and be in with a chance to win £100 in amazon gift vouchers.
• Make sure you film yourself in landscape format (not portrait)
• Ask someone to film you whilst you are performing. Make sure you are as large as you can be in the picture.
• Think about the lighting in the room and find a quiet space with no background noise.
• Check out your recording before sending – can you be heard and seen clearly?

Who will decide who wins?
We are lucky enough to have TV’s Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale in Eastenders) and Kim Taylforth (Hollyoaks) on board who will decide a winner in each category.
So, get practising and submit your videos to us by the 8th July.
Videos should be a maximum of 2 minutes long.
